A  15 day fully guided tour through seven countries to Europe’s largest free motorcycle rally, touring on scenic routes and through mountain passes. Including ferry crossings, support vehicle, and traditional hotels with breakfast, & evening meals en route.  Departure points at both Newcastle and Eurotunnel.

Dot and John Departure Day For Newcastle Departures. Our adventure begins at 15.45 on Thursday 2nd September at the North Shields ferry terminal, near Newcastle Upon Tyne. After boarding, get settled into your cabin, explore the boat & it’s facilities, & meet us later for a welcome meal in the restaurant. Later you can enjoy the on-board entertainment, have a drink in one of the bars, or maybe a little flutter in the casino.

Departure Day  For Eurotunnel departures. Meet at Eurotunnel service area at 08.30 Fri 3rd September, and board the train to begin our tour. Very soon, we’ll be in Calais, then riding past Dunkirk and into Belgium, stopping en route for lunch. Later, we’ll cross into Germany, with a visit to Monschau, one of the oldest & most picturesque cities in Germany, then on through the lovely Eifel region to our beautiful Wershofen hotel to stay the night, where we meet new friends and join the rest of our party. 260 miles

Day 2 For Newcastle Departures     After breakfast on the boat, we arrive in Ijmuiden at 09.30. We’ll be riding through Holland today, the land of tulip fields, canals, & windmills. We’ll include a visit to Monschau, one of the oldest & most picturesque cities in Germany, then on through the lovely Eifel region to our beautiful Wershofen hotel to stay the night. Take advantage of the great facilities here, have a swim and a sauna in the relaxing spa, and meet new friends from the rest of our group.   220 miles

Day 3  All parties. After an impressive breakfast, we’ll ride up to the Nurnbergring, for a short visit to this famous racetrack. After a coffee overlooking the track, we’ll carry on to St Goar, to have lunch on the terrace of a medieval castle overlooking the Rhine. Continuing south, we’ll follow the Rhine, then it’s motorway until we reach the Black Forest region with it’s stunning views & fabulous biking roads. 254 miles

Day 4  We certainly get around a bit today! Germany to Austria, via Switzerland, & passing through the principality of Liechtenstein! This is where the hills begin to grow into mountains, & you’ll enjoy stunning roads & scenery as we cross the Alps through the Silvrettapass. For the next 3 nights we will sample the generous hospitality of a typical Austrian hotel in Landeck, in the Tyrol. 180 miles

Day 5 There’s lots of excitement in store for us today, as we’re riding the beautiful Tyrolean mountain roads, and taking in several mountain passes, including the spectacular Stelvio Pass, at 2757m one of the highest and most famous Alpine passes. You’ll have seen these zig-zag roads on many a biking poster, & you’ll find a whole new meaning to the term ‘joy riding’, as you gleefully negotiate the many twisting hairpins down the mountain!  On your return to the hotel, relax and unwind in the spa, before we meet for a delicious 3-course dinner.                          175 miles

Day 6 Optional free day to do as you please. Take a walk around Landeck, maybe do a bit of shopping, or ride to Imst and take the ski-lift up the mountain, for a thrilling toboggan ride! Maybe you’d like to take a train into Innsbruck – the choice is yours. But we’ll be getting back on the bike, and you’re very welcome to join us to ride more glorious mountain roads, and yet another famous pass, the Timmelsjoch, at 2474m. We’ll have a lunch stop at a beautiful restaurant nestling in the foothills at San Leonardo, before climbing again, up through those beautiful twisties to the Brenner Pass. Continuing on towards Innsbruck, then heading back to the hotel for some welcome R and R!   180 miles

 Day 7  We set off to Faak am See today, riding yet more sweeping mountain roads with the songs of Julie Andrews forever in our minds! Our accommodation for the next four nights is in a lakeside hotel in the centre of Velden, and within easy reach of all the excitement and entertainment that the rally has to offer!   231 miles

Mountain viewDay 8  Free day. We’ll be taking a trip around Faaker See after breakfast, just to orientate everyone, and find out what each ‘village’ within the rally has to offer. There’s so much to see & do here, the only problem you’ll have is fitting everything in! There’s custom bike shows, stunt shows, trade stands, helicopter rides, music & bands & all things motorcycle related  – you name it, you’ll find it here!

Day 9  Free day.  We will be taking an optional ride-out to Slovenia & Italy today, join us if you’d like to explore a little further!

Day 10 Free day.

Day 11 Rally over, but the fun continues! We’ll be riding over the Grossglockner Pass today, (road conditions permitting), on one of the most fantastic biking roads ever! Be sure to buy a memento & take a photo at the top, just to prove you actually ‘Rode that Road’!     Then, after calling in at Innsbruck for a coffee, it’s back to our favourite hotel in Landeck, for one last night.  245 miles

Day 12 Leaving Austria today, we ride back into Germany and around the side of Lake Bodensee, then on to the biker’s paradise that is the Black Forest, riding through both dense woodland and open countryside to our overnight stay.  194 miles

Day 13 Riding northward, we’ll re-join the beautiful Black Forest Highway, staying overnight at our comfortable Wershofen hotel in the Eifel region.  255 miles

Day 14 After breakfast, we’ll bid farewell to our friends departing for home via the Eurotunnel.
We return to Holland, calling in at Harleyworld Amsterdam for a last shopping opportunity, then on to catch our ferry, where we’ll meet up for our final evening meal in the restaurant.      208 Miles 

Day 15  Following breakfast, say fond farewells, disembark & start planning next year’s trip!
